Bergamo - City of the Thousand

Explore Bergamo through this hyperlapse and timelapse short film, a personal project to celebrate my home town in Italy.

40km northeast of Milan, is divided into an old walled core known as Citta' Alta ("Upper Town") and the modern city below (Citta' Bassa, "Lower Town").

The upper town in encircled by massive Venetian defensive systems that are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

It is also nicknamed "The City of the Thousand", because of the large support it gave to The Expedition of the Thousand, a corps of volunteers led by Giuseppe Garibaldi and the main event in the Italian unification.
