A YEAR OF AURORA - 4K

What is more mesmerizing than the mystical aurorae? As we wrap up an excellent year for aurora observations even at solar minimum, it was the occasion for me to compile my favorite and most stunning aurora borealis sequences of 2018 in a short time-lapse movie.

From the simple band to the explosive coronas or the soft pulsating lights, I featured scenes from the famous island of Senja in Arctic Norway where I live now, but I also incorporated scenes taken in Arctic Sweden and Canada as well. This movie celebrates the northern lights in all its shapes, movements, colors and brightness variations. I really hope you enjoy it and I also hope to get even better sequences this year!

All was shot with the Sony a7rII, Sony a7s and the Canon 6D Baader modified and a variety of bright lenses ranging from 14mm to 50mm. I used the Vixen Polarie to track the stars and get some motion for some sequences. All post production was made in Lr with the special timelapse plus plugin, Sequence for mac, TLDF, and final production was made in FCPX. I hope you like the movie as much as I liked shooting and processing it and I thank everyone of you for your support.
