This unbelievable sight occurred in the skies over Dodge City, Kansas on May 24, 2016 after the city narrowly missed being hit by 4 violent tornadoes. Mammatus clouds occur on the backside of thunderstorm complexes as the turbulent and unstable air being lofted by the thunderstorm spreads out once it hits the stable tropopause layer. At times, this can resemble flames spreading out across a ceiling. Music by Isaac Hananiah.
