The Servants of the Salish Sea - A Sea-to-Plate Film

"In the vast waters of the Salish Sea, dwells an unseen glory... an abundance of life."
This is a glimpse into the life of the fishing industry in Bellingham, WA. Not many know the details of the complex process that fish take from the sea to the dinner table. This film tells the story of just a few individuals who give of themselves every day to feed the masses.
I came onto this project at the beginning of August and hit the ground running, learning about a complex industry that I knew nothing of. Being from the Midwest, I was completely green to every aspect. It is indeed a way of life that has shaped the PNW for centuries. Seeing the love the fishers, harvesters, processors, tenders, chefs, and retailers put behind their work for seafood was incredibly inspiring. It is truly an art-form.
They are your unseen masters, your neighbors, your family, your servants of the Salish Sea.
