A portrait is an attempt to represent and recreate reality - it is artificial and thus incomplete. This is my attempt to share what it feels like to be in a few of my favorite places. These portraits don't cover every season. They don't cover every location. But to me - this is Oregon. Mt Hood. Steens Mountain. The Painted Hills. Timelapse photography is just an excuse to be out there. You probably have places you feel just as passionately about near your home. Cherish such places. Fight to protect them "from the grasping wastrels of the land" (Former Oregon Gov. Tom McCall).
This film is too long. This film doesn't have much of a score. What you will get though - is an unusually long sequence of exquisite landscape photography and natural soundscapes. Portraits is meant to be listened to as much as seen; there are more hours of audio highlights represented than film.
If you've got 25 minutes to be transported elsewhere - grab a coffee - crack an IPA - or just lay back and relax. I hope you enjoy it.

If you somehow want an even longer film, can stand 1080p HD (I don't have a 4K TV yet I'm one of you), and want some traditional 'real-time' video footage mixed in - check out my 'Discover Oregon' Vimeo On Demand series.
