In 1988, girlfriends Claudia Brenner and Rebecca Wight were attacked by a "mountain man" on the Appalachian Trail. Lyric and visceral, "In the Hollow" blends past and present in a hybrid documentary, following the sole survivor's return to the trail for the first time and the path of her survival.
