Despite it's small size it offers rich architectural and cultural heritage, diversity of landscapes and climates, and well-preserved natural environment. All this comes at a price of course: Montenegro is considered one of the fastest-growing tourist destinations.
However, it is still an amazing place to visit, but see for yourself.

Anamorphic LA

This timelapse piece was shot in and around the Los Angeles area using a Sony A7R2 and a Sony A7S2 equipped with PL to e-mount lens adaptors. The lenses used were 2 vintage anamorphics that have a 2x squeeze on the image when it is being shot. Also since the lenses were cine lenses used for 35mm motion picture film they won't cover the entire full frame sensor of the two cameras. Using a method I developed in After Effects I was able to un-squeeze the footage and give it the appropriate crop so the places not covered by the lenses wasn't shown in the final image. Shooting in anamorphic was very different experience and doesn't give you the flexibility you get shooting normal spherical lenses. When you frame a shot and start shooting what you see in the frame is what your going to get. There's very little room for re-framing a shot in post. The 2 lenses I used for this piece were the Nipponscope 25mm T2 PL mount and the Todd-AO high Speed 50mm T1.4 PL mount. Both of the lenses were pretty old but they give the piece a different look.

Music Composed By:
Nigel Wiesehan

Motion Control equipment used for this piece was the Kessler Second Shooter and the TLS.

Likely Stories: "The Selling Of Vince D'Angelo"

In 1982 Danny DeVito directed and starred in this prescient political parable about a loud-mouthed, egotistical New Jersey concrete mogul who decides to make an independent run for Senator because he feels “Jersey is going down the tubes” and only a common sense, successful businessman such as he can fix it.

He runs a low-road, fear-mongering campaign promising to "make the streets safe again” and “bring back decent family values.” One by one he takes down his opponents with outright lies about their character backed up below the belt incendiary political commercials. Their ominous tag lines were to vote for him, “BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE!" & "WHAT THE HELL YOU GOT TO LOSE?"

Sound familiar?

Journey within “Simhasth Kumbh Mela 2016”

“Kumbh” in its literal English translation means “Pot”, which emerged from “Samudra Manthan”(Churning of the Ocean) between Gods and Devils. The term ‘Mela‘ signifies’Fair‘.
“Simhasth Kumbh Mahaparv” is one of the four “Kumbh Melas” celebrated by largest spiritual gathering on Planet Earth. Simhasth Kumbh Mahaparv is rejoiced by holy dip in the sacred river Kshipra in ancient and religious city Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh).Simhasth Kumbh Maha Parva is based on the celestial line-up of Planets and the Signs of the Zodiac, which occurs every 12 years.
Kumbh Mahaparv is held at four places in India – Haridwar, Prayag (Allahabad), Ujjain and Nasik. At Ujjain, Kumbh Mahaparv is specifically called “Simhasth Kumbh Mahaparv” because the Sun (in Sanskrit “Surya”) is in the zodiac Aries (“Mesh” in Sanskrit) and the Jupiter (“Brahaspati” in Sanskrit) is in the zodiac Leo (in Sanskrit “Simha”) when it takes place. There are ten unique and uncommon yogs which exist and facilitate the organizing of Simhasth Kumbh Mahaparv.

THE BLUE TIME

The Sami People call it the ‘blue time’ - the period in winter when the sun doesn’t rise above the horizon in northern areas of Scandinavia. Jeff Allen visits northern Norway every year, in both winter and summer, to break out of the world of credit cards and double glazing that society has become and explore the breath-taking wilderness and coastline by sea kayak with longtime friend Bjørn Eines. In more recent years, he has taken up dog sledding under the experienced wing of Tore Albrigtsen and now guides expeditions to the region to let others witness the beauty of his favourite place on earth.

SKYGLOWPROJECT.COM : HADES EXHALES

Located at the corner of Wyoming, Montana and Idaho, Yellowstone, America's first National Park, sits on one of the most powerful supervolcanoes on the planet. Yellowstone Caldera last erupted approximately 64 million years ago, sending pyroclastic flows across hundreds of miles in diameter, and covering most of North America with a thick layer of ash. Carried by weather, ash and other particles covered the globe, causing a year-long blackout, and resulting in a devastating nuclear winter.

Today, Yellowstone provides the visitors a spectacle of geothermal features and prismatic colors as pressure underneath builds to eventual geyser explosions across the basin. This breathtaking volcanic ritual serves as reminder that some of the most beautiful parts of nature and often the most dangerous.

Dedicated to Colin Nathaniel Scott who died at Yellowstone just days after this video was made.

This video was filmed as part of SKYGLOW (skyglowproject.com), an ongoing crowdfunded quest to explore the effects and dangers of urban light pollution in contrast with some of the most incredible dark sky areas in North America. This project is being produced in collaboration with International Dark-Sky Association (darksky.org), a non-profit fighting for the preservation of night skies around the globe.

The film was shot on Canon 5DSR & 5DIII cameras & lenses sponsored by Canon USA, aided by Alpine Labs' Michron, powered by Paul C. Buff Vagabond Mini. LRTimelapse was used to process some of the shots.
