GRAND as in Grandfather

"GRAND as in Grandfather" - A time-lapse video highlighting Grandfather Mountain located just off the Blue Ridge Parkway in western North Carolina.

It's often fascinating to watch and capture the weather patterns near Grandfather. It's height and steep elevation change from the Foothills often creates a micro-climate. Fog and low-hanging clouds often shroud the mountain. Rime ice is common in the winter months. Tough weather conditions often prevail on Grandfather with high winds."

The video starts with the full moon setting behind Grandfather and ends with star trails filling the sky over Grandfather. In between are sights of Grandfather from a distance, on the mountain, and looking down at the gorgeous scenery of the surrounding hills and mountains.

If you want an exhilarating experience, try walking across the mile-high suspension bridge on a windy day. Better yet, on a windy and foggy day!
