Adventure with Family: Pacific NorthWest Roadtrip

Seven years ago when my wife and I got married, we loved to be outdoors and adventure. A move across the Pacific to Hawaii, a slower metabolism, and 3 kids later, we still love to adventure the outdoors. Obviously, with 3 young children, we have changed the way we adventure, but nonetheless, we make it an effort to get our kids to enjoy the outdoors.

Four years ago, when our oldest son was 9 months old, we did a fun road trip starting from Oregon down to Southern California along the coast (vimeo.com/29245544). It was amazing and we vowed to return someday and finish the coast north up to Northern Washington. We spent 11 days going from Lincoln City, OR to Victoria B.C. along the coast. After the initial road trip up the coast we did some other camping and exploring around other parts of Oregon.

We kept our daily driving to about 3-4 hours/day to allow much of the day to explore and find a campsite. We had no itinerary and wanted to let our surroundings decide where to stay and how long. Camping with 3 children (ages 4, 2, and 10 months) is a lot of work, but well worth it.
