Katmandu: Before the Quake

Katmandu's ancient sites were woven into the vibrant social and religious fabric of the city. Made of brick and timber, many of these iconic buildings were lost in the earthquake that rocked Nepal.

"Katmandu, Before the Quake," is something akin to a visual eulogy to the human and cultural loss from the April 25 earthquake in Nepal. The short film pays tribute to Kathmandu's cultural diversity, beauty and shows what life was like in the temples, just weeks before they fell.

I debated weather or not to make this — but I hope that by in doing so, some of these places that are no longer there, will not only be digitally preserved, but also give inspiration and hope to rebuild.
