We spent almost three months traveling across the Indochinese peninsula, discovering Laos, Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam. This is a small glimpse of what we saw.

Filmed with the Sony a7s in S-Log2. Edited and graded in FCPX with the help of LUT Utility & Osiris LUTs.

For stabilisation I only had a small tripod that I also used as an improvised shoulder rig.

Moto Borgatoro

Part documentary, part pulp action film, all love and pure passion: "Moto Borgatoro" follows curmudgeon/savant mechanic Peter Boggia and the birth of his custom 1979 Moto Guzzi Le Mans into creation.

Mind you this film is not your normal bike build movie by design; no grinder sparks, no silhouette shots, no dramatic music. Been there seen that. This one is pure adrenaline, and hopefully tightens your pants like riding the bike would.

The film has received praise from the limited amount of industry people given the opportunity to experience. Filmmaker and Moto-enthusist alike claim that it's got "Fellini roots with Tarantino fruits". We love praise that rhymes.

Love bikes, hate bike, or know nothing about them, this film is juicy enough for anyone to quickly fall in love with Peter and his bad-ass machine.

About the making of the film:
Shot on a Arri SR 16mm film camera, BMCC, and two 5Ds. Edited and sound design in Premiere Pro CC with some light AE magic.

Now that summer is over, enjoy this little tribute to those warm beach days.

Over the past few months, I have been busy capturing aerial footage around Manhattan Beach - one of the most idyllic Southern California beach towns, located south of Los Angeles. This place makes flying easy as everything is so picturesque.

Music: A compilation of classical tracks composed by Stauss and inspired by Kubrick. The pier has always looked a bit otherworldly to me from above so thought this music fits nicely.

Last Friday we were honoured to close the 4th chapter of OFFF Mexico 2015, and closing the event with the premiere of Sarofsky's Main Titles was the cherry on top, with add-on sweetness!

Entitled "One Fabulous Fucking Filter", OFFF Mexico 2015 Main Titles explore a visual encyclopedia of fun and inspiring styles and treatments. With 20 speakers to highlight, Sarofsky's team of designers designed "filter" ideas where 50 of them applied to introduce speakers individually based on each speaker's character.

“Pixel Sorting”, “Saul About That Bass”, “Digital Interference”; the filters' name alone are incredible, along with the brilliantly designed visuals and typography!

Chicago Hyperlapse - "E-Ticket to Chicago"

Chicago Hyperlapse "E-Ticket to Chicago" is a final creation of my 5 month project. I started in May shooting some pictures for this clip which was born in my head last year and weather did not allowed me to fulfill those plans. Finally in May weather started to be nice so I got out of the house over the weekends to get started with this project. It's my first hyperlapse and every time shooting some sequences was challenging. At first I thought that this is easy and software will do the rest. I was soooooo wrong. It is hard work to shoot every picture in level, focus, keep the same distance between frames, timing. On top of that I was getting up at 4 am on Sundays to get to some places before crowds hit the streets. Sunrises in the summer are around 5.30 am but really worth waking up. I made over 100 and used around 50 sequences for this project and lots of material did not came out as expected. That's part of the process - I guess. Overall I spent all my free weekends, few days off, lots of hours in front of my computers and this is it. Journey through Chicago in 4 minutes. I used Canon 7D and 70D plus GoPro Hero 4 Black Edition for this video. Edited in Lightroom 5, Adobe After Effects and Sony Studio 13. September 2015.

Ixmiquilpan, Mexico is one of the last places where "pelea de gallos"—or cockfighting—is legal. Abelardo Olguín Cuevas still practices the brutal pastime his grandfather taught him, even as growing controversy and declining interest threatens to make the sport he loves extinct.

When Abelardo Olguin Cuevas was five years old, his father brought him to his first cockfight. His grandfather was a "gallero" and his dad wanted him to understand the sport that had been such a big part of his family’s history. Olguin was fascinated, and that fascination stuck. Now, as an adult, he carries on that tradition. But the richness of cockfighting’s centuries-old heritage is inseparable from the violence and brutality of the sport, and the increasing opposition to it. It’s still legal in Ixmiquilpan, the town in Central Mexico where Olguin raises and fights roosters, but is outlawed in many surrounding cities and states. His teenage son doesn’t want to pick it up, and as interest dies and outrage rises, there’s a very real possibility that it may soon be extinct in his town as well. Directed by Alfredo Alcantara and Josh Chertoff, produced by Ben Altarescu.

I’m interested in what happens when working on visuals and music in parallel, adding features to the visuals software when the music demands it and writing the music as a soundtrack to moments that emerge from the code. The imagery is not an add-on, it’s part of the composition process.

The visuals software was built using openFrameworks and operates much like a game engine. A map is created with rules for traffic flow, junctions and traffic lights. Thousands of cars can be added, each with their own personality, some preferring to drive faster or more aggressively than others. The world is then influenced by MIDI inputs that affect parameters such as the simulation speed, exposure length, camera moves or even gravity.
