On August 21, 2017, a total eclipse stretched across the United States for the first time in almost 100 years. I traveled to Wyoming to capture the experience of totality in VR on behalf of the Google Expeditions team.
After watching the stitched video footage, I decided to interview witnesses of the eclipse from around the country and used the audio to make this short film. I hope it helps capture the overwhelming ecstasy of seeing a total solar eclipse.
Go ahead, take a look around!
Filmed with the GoPro Odyssey in stereoscopic 3D + 360.
