To say we were apprehensive about visiting Turkey would have been an understatement. There had been an attempted coup two weeks earlier, an explosion in the main airport, and political instability. However despite all that was said in the news, and family dismay, we decided to continue with our plans to travel through Turkey for a month in August 2016.
It was the best decision we ever made.
We encountered incredible landscapes, welcoming and friendly people, and had one of the richest travel experiences of our lives. From the vibrant city of Istanbul, to the alien landscapes of Cappadocia and the beautiful Turquoise Coast, I can honestly say that Turkey is one of the most beautiful places in the world.
This film represents our journey through Turkey, from initial fear and apprehension, to completely embracing the light of this place.
Thank you to Leeann Laleh and Barkin Ozdemir for your help scouting locations and for showing me around your beautiful country, and to my fiance Jackie for all those early mornings, for always supporting my crazy projects, and for being the star of the show.
