In February 2015 I’ve travelled to the Arctic Norway on a photographic adventure to chase the northern lights (Aurora Borealis) and experience the amazing landscape of Northern Norway, weather however has not been kind we have experienced –20 deg temp and heavy snow falls with a heavy cloud cover almost every night, northern lights where unfortunately hard to spot. Coming from Melbourne Australia where at that time we have experienced +36 deg temp it was a hard and harsh environment to deal with.
We began in Svolvær a fishing town (9,200 inhabitants) and made our way to Reine a small fishing village (2700 inhabitants) and surrounding areas in the Lofoten Islands of Northern Norway on our 10 day journey and I must say the fjord systems around these Islands it’s just phenomenal, a must to see.
I have shot this video with my 5Dm3 and 6D canon and all canon L series lenses, I have also used E-motimo for some of the time-lapse sequences fantastic little unit. The video has been combined from still images, time-lapse images (approx. 4000) and video footage. I wanted to show the harsh winter yet very beautiful and grand landscape of this amazing country.
